Our Mission

Simply put, we exist to help our clients. We want individuals, family members, and friends to live free from the effects of substance dependence or co-dependency. Our ultimate goal is to see each person that comes through our doors lead their best life.

Our History

In 1986, Westover Treatment Centre received funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to open a residential alcohol treatment centre in Thamesville, Ontario. For our first two years, Bev Thomson, Brian Gallagher, Nancy Gallagher, Jovit Mendonca, and dedicated volunteers worked hard to establish our centre.

Thanks to fundraising initiatives and the generosity of our community, we were able to restore an aging Victorian home into a facility that would provide hope to many suffering from the effects of addiction.

In 1990, we established our Co-Dependence program for families, friends, and loved one who have been affected by another person's addiction. It is still currently one of only two such programs available in Ontario. In 2016, we embarked on our bathroom renovation project to provide upgraded and gender neutral facilities for our clients. More than 12,000 residential clients have been treated at Westover. It is our privilege to provide each one of them with accessible and quality treatment.

This has been an amazing experience. I feel confident in my recovery and I will take all the tools I’ve learned from Westover on my new life journey.
